Take a break from walking or driving around the park and put your pedal power to the test. Hire one of our karts and see what a nice change it makes.
Having visited Great Yarmouth seashore 14 times we thought we might try Hopton holiday village and wasn't disappointed 😊 We booked a delux caravan for a week and was pleased to get one nearer to the front of the park as we have no car and rely on public transport to get about . The caravan wasn't bad central heating and ensuite ! Was a tad worried I might get a tired looking one as didn't have much choice when I booked as all gone ! But no problem 😊 Check in was easy although the journey to Yarmouth was a pain due to delays and the cost of a taxi from Yarmouth to Hopton hit £17 ! . Once in we decided to explore and found the garden house , lovely designed a cross between a restaurant and a potting shed ! Little gnomes everywhere and outside even a bowl of doggie treats and doggie water bowls everywhere 😊I did notice an awful lot of flies in the caravan and wondered where they came from but when I went to restaurant I saw a fly trap set up so I assumed they were everywhere so just made it a challenge to get as many as I could before holiday was over ( I managed 9 lol!) . We then went onto seek out the amusements and show bar that's on three levels with steps up but a ramp at the side if you need it , the show bar being at the top of the arcade . I've read reviews on here that the park looks tired and shabby well I never saw any evidence of that I saw well kept grounds with carved wooden creatures dotted about I also read some reviews that said owners were favoured and staff were rude ! Not to us we felt like we were part of everything the staff were lovely always polite and I never saw the difference between guests and owners other than there was an event on the Friday for the owners in the restaurant we just went into show bar no big deal . Fun stars were really interacting with the kids that were there .we sat in on one show that was surprisingly good with songs from elvis to the Beatles one nights entertainment wasn't for us though, a juggler ! Although he was good it was a tad boring but as I'm not keen on magicians circuses etc this would never had been my thing . Used the pool twice lovely and clean well attended by life guards . A bubble pool was a bit of fun when that went off a few fish spouted water there was a water slide as well but never tried it ( maybe next time !) . There's a very small shop on site a tad expensive but ok for a few bits there's a mcolls outside camp but that's not much different !. A good Chinese take away called the windmill is a good bet tasty fresh food not too greasy either ! A chip shop that was nice but never open later than 8 or so it seemed . I bought a weekly travel card for £21 as there's plenty of buses a few mins walk away that get you to Yarmouth, gorleston , Lowestoft , and Norwich so well served . We enjoyed Hopton and will be back next year 😊
